After defining carbon footprint and its causes in our previous blog, now we are going to provide some simple ways to reduce your carbon footprint. 


You can start living a more eco-friendly life, by following these easy and quick steps:


1.Using less energy

You can reduce your household emissions and save money on your energy bills, just by turning off the lights, unplugging anything you’re not using, buying energy-saving light bulbs, and switching to a company that provides electricity from solar energy!


2. Using less water 

Just by using less, you are helping the environment, making your home more eco-friendly, and lowering your carbon footprint. When brushing your teeth, just turn off the taps. I know that you love long warming baths with candles, but if you want to be eco-friendly, you should go for short showers, and use only the water you need! Remember a lot of people are looking for a drop of water to drink! You don’t want to be selfish? Right?


3. Changing your diet

Meat and dairy products require a lot of water and energy to produce. In addition to that, they create a lot of methane and greenhouse gases. Go for a healthy lifestyle; choose a plant-based diet and fewer animal products. 


4. Using public transport

Public transport such as trains, metros, and busses are often cheaper and emit less carbon dioxide in comparison with petrol cars and taxis. But the most environmentally friendly ways are walking and biking. They are better for your health and the environment. 


5. Thinking green

It’s all about the mindset. Think green, raise awareness and educate your family and friends about the importance of protecting the environment. This can help to reduce their footprints.


In the end, leave a light carbon footprint as much as possible and make a difference for the sake of having the quality of life in terms of mortality, age, and disease. And for the next upcoming generations!
